The First Counsel commences practice

The First Counsel has commenced practice. The firm, founded by Hasnain Ali Qureshi, advises on corporate and commercial matters and defends clients in white-collar criminal and regulatory proceedings. It does both from the same desk.

The pairing is deliberate. The lawyers who paper a transaction should understand what happens if a regulator later questions it. The lawyers who answer an investigation should understand the deal that preceded it. The firm is built so that neither practice works without the other in the room.

The firm has presences in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. Details of each office, and of the lawyers joining the firm, will be announced in due course.
